<br />
Hi!!<br />
<br />
In the world we live in, we have iPads, iPhones and androids, etc. In most scenarios I love technology, and I'm that girl who loves techy things. And yes, I have both and I love them dearly. Another thing I love is my website, mostly because I built it myself. I built it in Flash and thought it was really "cool" to have the animated features of the site. Learning how to create it and putting it together just felt empowering! And I didn't have to pay anyone else to do it!!<br />
<br />
Steve Jobs, well he was not a big fan of Flash and didn't support it on his products like the iPhone or the Ipad. I guess he didn't think the animation was that cool. And it doesn't seem like that has changed with time so I now have to. Though there are apps out there so you can see Flash sites, it's just doesn't satisfy our consumer need of "I have to have it right now" spirit. Plus, I'm listening to my clients tell me, I can't pull up your site on my iPad.<br />
<br />
So, I have started creating an iPad/iPhone Friendly site. And so the late nights have begun...<br />
It's hard to let go of something I worked so hard on so I figured out a way to have both by creating more work for myself :) YAY! Am I crazy or what? When you go to my website from an iPad, it takes you to the friendly iPad version site and when you visit it from a desktop, you still go to my Flash version. I'm just not ready to let go. Maybe the double maintenance will help me get over that soon! REAL soon!<br />
<br />
With the notion of starting a new site, I thought, hey I need to update my blog too! Well, unfortunately that came with having to change the web address to <a href="http://www.invitationcreationspm/icblog">www.invitationcreationspm/icblog</a>. so keep up with our blog by bookmarking the new site. Though both sites are still being tweaked, both are live! So thanks Apple for making me create another site and thanks to my clients who gave me that extra push to get with the times!<br />

<br />
It's a dinosaur party for a boy who's turning three!!<br />
Let's start with these invitations. The dinosaur look couldn't look aggressive, menacing or scary! We wanted the children to want to come and not be scared just by looking at the invitations :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vicB4KOi55g/UUt4PSy_xoI/AAAAAAAAADU/ex6mZmuD2G4/s400/dinosaur+invitations.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<br />
For the party, we made several goodie items like cupcake toppers, goodie bags, bag labels, water bottle labels, food signs and a welcome sign.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nFK9Kas6SMU/UUt4yHtJlLI/AAAAAAAAAEE/n0jqCQcsgRA/s400/dinosaur+paper+stationery.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<br />
<br />
Let's start with the cupcake toppers. We had three different designs but all complimenting the invitation.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-X3fMAIL-b6o/UUt4xajoGjI/AAAAAAAAADg/umo1773vUCI/s400/dinosaur+cupcake+toppers.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We also created food labels and when possible created dinosaur themed names for the food as well.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bz9jlmloNZ0/UUt4xcQCYZI/AAAAAAAAADo/GtZsUOLYT6s/s400/dinosaur+Food+Labels.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<br />
<br />
The goodie bags were filled with dinosaur themed goodies like a large Dinosaur gummie, dinosaur rocks which were chocolate, and some other dinosaur related items.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-U2GBQ6pSrY4/UUt4x2FD3gI/AAAAAAAAADs/LNejwc3qgGI/s400/dinosaur+goodie+bags.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
These were inside the goodie bags and they are chocolate!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N4zsPM_IZAc/UUt4xhA33iI/AAAAAAAAADw/9-83vmevebM/s400/dinosaur+favors.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<br />
We also created these great water bottle labels!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v7Z0hmCkRAc/UUt4yR-1cdI/AAAAAAAAAD8/UtMZM9ivJAU/s400/dinosaur+water+bottle+labels.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
On the front door we created a welcome sign to the party.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-M_PmIyIHBi0/UUt4ycuSiCI/AAAAAAAAAEA/VpOVft9dZqI/s400/dinosaur+welcome+sign.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And last but not least, the thank you cards!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RsPuDoel8uo/UUt4xJRZCRI/AAAAAAAAADc/AG-1X7_mVdY/s400/dinosaur+Thank+you+cards.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<br />
Thanks for checking out our Dino-mite stationery =)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04958074961357483011noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-6190915439053027062012-11-21T16:52:00.002-05:002012-11-21T16:52:22.680-05:00Let's go Wild! Birthday Jungle - Safari Invitations<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="197" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VR95yp1_sFc/UJruNhf0_GI/AAAAAAAAABM/XlLK7lM_15Y/s320/jungle+safari+birthday+invitation3.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Angela lives in California and decided to call me earlier this year because she fell in love with my jungle invitations. In particular, the Let's go bananas invitation. Her soon-to-be 3 year old son would be having his own safari birthday. Since his birthday event would be at the Sand Diego Zoo, she wanted an invitation that reflected the venue and the type of birthday party it would be!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And talk about an awesome birthday party, the children and the parents would be enjoying a scavenger hunt throughout the park and the guests without children would be getting a behind-the-scenes tour of The San Diego Zoo! Who wouldn't want to go to that kind of birthday party? </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="192" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wTdXHHI6-yM/UJrxBD32tXI/AAAAAAAAABc/VdqB7ZScgEM/s320/jungle+safari+birthday+invitation.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To top it off, we added custom stamps and matching calligraphy for the envelopes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="197" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6C425-iMa1U/UJrxFKIvUHI/AAAAAAAAABk/tEBCQdSlHnw/s320/jungle+safari+birthday+invitation2.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Thanks Angela, for letting me create these wonderful invitations for your son!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04958074961357483011noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-29034456919376969412012-10-02T19:05:00.001-04:002012-10-02T19:05:44.909-04:00Trust from a Nigerian<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--SPttpVUs-8/UGXEAooDobI/AAAAAAABO0s/-fbDBTVtQdg/s1600/Wedding%2BLola%2Band-0005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--SPttpVUs-8/UGXEAooDobI/AAAAAAABO0s/-fbDBTVtQdg/s400/Wedding%2BLola%2Band-0005.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So Lola was a referral from another client, Lori. Typically when someone is referred by a previous client, the new potential client has a level of trust already built in because they know someone who has hired them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What I didn't know is that Lola and Jerry had a terrible experience with hiring a potential wedding planner prior to meeting me. So needless to say, they didn't hire that wedding planner and were very skeptical during half of our meeting together. Yes only halfway. Jerry who was most skeptical, started to relax. Hey, I even saw a smile on his face! After seeing my work, meeting me in person, seeing my studio, seeing my business license and reviewing my contract, he felt more comfortable. Yes, they were very vocal about their experience and afraid of going through the same run-around that the previous planner had tried to pull on them. Well, anyone who knows me, knows that I am all about my work and my name so therefore I give 100% of my time and passion into what I do and they saw that and chose to have me create their wedding invitations :) YAY!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And if you are wondering, yes...they eventually hired a wedding planner who is considered one of the best in town, Gail Johnson of <a href="http://www.gailjohnsonweddings.com/" target="_blank">Gail Johnson Weddings</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This was a Nigerian wedding and I truly loved the wedding colors of tangerine orange and green. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We also created programs for their wedding ceremony.</div>

<img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-icAInNNG8FU/UFdabXCFuUI/AAAAAAABOx0/5vTVVb_5PAo/s400/Pirate%2BBlog%2BCollage.jpg" width="400" /></div>
I have SO many things to share with you that I don't even know where to start! I should share some wedding things, but to be a little more playful, I thought I would start off with a pirate invitation :)
This little pirate was turning two and just LOVES 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates' from Disney. So we decided to take inspiration from that.
The cake would be 'Buckey' which is the boat Jake uses. By the way, the cake was made by Publix.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vwWCGvtTk5A/UFdhOG9107I/AAAAAAABOy4/IwMRAVDRE8A/s400/pirate%2Bcake.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: start;">
The cupcakes would have cupcake toppers with the pirate theme as well.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pebuZVBZso8/UFdacKfT5aI/AAAAAAABOyA/jEQtRWn2lZA/s400/pirate%2Bcupcake%2Btoppers.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
We created custom water labels and a couple of table signs as well.
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4vPG0Gs9fjE/UFdhPzkd8PI/AAAAAAABOzo/C_oIC2aGDrU/s400/pirate%2Bwater.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GfyDNn82zTM/UFdhPU04p8I/AAAAAAABOzc/yQkQGATrSaw/s400/pirate%2Bsign.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The favor for the adults were mini chocolate bars with a custom label on them.
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ozESlxN-PDQ/UFdacZqS9eI/AAAAAAABOyM/f3i0iZxJZxc/s400/pirate%2Bfavor%2Btreats.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The goody bags for the kids were also custom as well with the pirate loot inside of them.
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5cK7lXh7p2Y/UFdhO0mQH9I/AAAAAAABOzQ/ENMe7XN7Ijc/s1600/pirate%2Bloot%2Bbag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5cK7lXh7p2Y/UFdhO0mQH9I/AAAAAAABOzQ/ENMe7XN7Ijc/s400/pirate%2Bloot%2Bbag.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Inside the kids had chocolate coins and other little goodies.
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V2ohYM8WX5Q/UFdhOUAgfII/AAAAAAABOzE/bKshn1ZGVj0/s400/pirate%2Bgold%2Bcoins.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<br />
The invitation was a trifold invitation. The birthday boy loves orange, so I incorporated a little orangey-yello in there as well. I love the woodlike paper, don't you?
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-t-rPlKtrCJI/UFdadV28DaI/AAAAAAABOyk/97f6sCUhkYU/s400/pirate%2Bbirthdayinvite.jpg" width="400" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tPiHS6TW-1E/UFdacykIp3I/AAAAAAABOyY/ddUDPwPMiFc/s400/pirate%2Bbirthday%2Binvitation.jpg" width="400" /></div>

<img border="0" height="192" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Fpx2yi-tVso/T9S2hSSVrMI/AAAAAAABOvw/KGQ9Hzh--is/s320/lantern+wedding+invitation.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<br />
I LOVED working with Ashlie! She was such an sweet, easy-going and wonderful client and I'm so lucky she chose me as her preferred stationer. We started off with her save the dates.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="192" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d5MfS57lbeI/T9dxtWqPv3I/AAAAAAABOv4/9Vu9HoQYxqo/s320/lantern+wedding+save+the+date2.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<br />
At this stage, she chose a gatefold save-the-date where we could have a photo of the couple. The part that had not been decided was what graphic were we going to use throughout her wedding stationery. She had a passion for bonsai trees and was using them for her centerpieces so I kept that in mind as an option. Another option was the venue itself which was Castle Ladyhawke. At the entrance of the castle, there were 2 lanterns which ivy crawling on the walls.<br />
<br />
So initially we created samples with these two options. Ultimately, She chose the lantern style:) Ashlie had a preference for a classic look with modern tendencies.
Her colors were yellow and gray. So we decided to use a predominant yellow color for her save the dates and reverse it for the invitations.
She loved the pocket fold look and wanted this for her invitation.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="192" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QOhCWCwFTzU/T9dx8nqfLFI/AAAAAAABOwA/-VXjgyWnrHc/s320/lantern+wedding+invitation2.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<br />
We created 4x9 sized programs that are straight and to the point but coordinate with the rest of her wedding stationery.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="192" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LWhQLTtEUXQ/T9d0A5Ti7_I/AAAAAAABOwQ/82Q0905OrcY/s320/lantern+wedding+program.jpg" width="320" /></div>

<img border="0" height="192" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WpeeInJeJbU/T5hgw1ol7rI/AAAAAAABMIc/e87pWQa1IeE/s320/boardingpassinvite+with+luggage+tag2.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<br />
Keisha and Kenji contacted me about creating a boarding pass luggage tag combo for their wedding invitations. Something I had not done together. They were both vibrant real and genuine people who weer easy to relate to and enjoyed their company each time I met with them.<br />
<br />
I simply love doing new designs and knew designing their wedding invitations would be fun! As they discussed their vision of their wedding, they wanted to reflect a bold, fun celebration. They loved neutral tones with punches of color. We also were maintaining a budget without compromising design. I think we pulled it off!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="192" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WSD9lA11KoM/T5hgv3oCyPI/AAAAAAABMIU/LtpKsBjn8-E/s320/boardingpassinvite+with+luggage+tag.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<br />
The invitation was on the boarding pass, additional information card was
the luggage tag. Both were wrapped with a belly band with a custom
monogram in the center. Thanks Keisha and Kenji for allowing me to be a part of your special day!Patricia Mayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00257787386299695051noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-35219382809610238302012-04-11T21:44:00.000-04:002012-09-17T14:11:36.279-04:00Bereavement Cards<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5730641225733941490" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lM-aAukYLX4/T4dT1SMUqPI/AAAAAAABK7Y/tpSIDDY4qFk/s400/bereavement%2Bcards.jpg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
<br />
Another new product. Bereavement cards. Not the happiest of topics, but loss has come to forefront of my mind as I mourn the sudden loss of my uncle this week.<br />
<br />
A past bride of mine lost her mother at the end of last year and wanted to send out bereavement cards to all the friends and family that helped her with love, support, gifts, food, flowers, etc. in such a difficult time of her life. Luckily she thought of her preferred stationer, moi. Though I had never done these before, she trusted me in this unknown area and I really wanted to be a part of something so personal and dear to my client.<br />
<br />
In difficult times is when true friendships flourish. When your mourning a loss, its hard to eat, to sleep, to breathe and possibly go on. Those who help carry us through this difficult time are ones we cherish and know those relationships will last a lifetime.Patricia Mayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00257787386299695051noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-74313773740767586672012-03-26T19:18:00.002-04:002012-09-17T14:12:00.936-04:00Starfish Passport Invitation and Boarding Pass response<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5724349624711264002" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8yJ9zr1K7X4/T3D5p58ONwI/AAAAAAABJmg/9HZybn9ge1Y/s400/passport%2Binvitation-%2Bstarfish.jpg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
<br />
So I am super late posting these invitations, but better late than never :) <br />
Ebenee and Arthur were such a pleasure to work with. They were having a destination wedding at the Majestic in Punta Cana. They didn't come in with the idea of doing a passport / boarding pass invitation, but once they saw some previous ones I had created, they really became enamored with it. With a count of almost 300 invitations, budget was something we had to keep in mind. <br />
<br />
We decided to create a passport invitation and use the boarding pass as the response card. As an added touch we created custom mailing labels for this gorgeous invitation suite. <br />
<br />
Ebenee told me that many of her guests wanted to keep the invitation set in its entirety so they elected to call with their response instead of mailing it back. I know this had to be frustrating to Ebenee, but inside I took that as a compliment :)<br />
<br />
We also created several goodies for her day-of stationery and I can't wait to share those with you next! Enjoy!Patricia Mayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00257787386299695051noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-91831347936207028342012-02-27T10:13:00.001-05:002012-09-17T14:12:17.938-04:00Birthday Bubbles<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
So every year I have always had total control of my daughter's birthday parties. Well, this year, I had my first power struggle with a soon-to-be 5 year old. She had her own ideas of what she wanted for her birthday party. For the past four years I have done it my way and now my daughter is voicing her opinion, no, her demands -shed tear, my daughter is growing up :( <br />
<br />
She wanted a clown which is what I did for my son's M&M birthday party. Well, I wanted to do something different, something she had not had or seen before. Her second suggestion was to have a DJ, again something we had already done for her dancing princess party when she turned 4. I wanted to do a bubbles party. She loves bubbles and so does my then 16 month old. I thought she would love the idea. Nope, she said, "maybe when I turn 6 you can do that mommy." Well, I wasn't going to back down. I really wanted to surprise her at the party with the entertainer but she left me with no choice. I had to show her the video on the entertainer's website for her to be excited about having a bubbles party. <a href="http://www.gabubbleman.com/">GA Bubbleman</a> was the man to who came and did an excellent job entertaining and showing the kids how to blow all kinds and sizes of bubbles. <br />
<br />
Once I got her excited about the theme, now I would have to negotiate her color scheme.I really wanted to do a pink and green color scheme, but she had other ideas. She wanted , blue, purple, hot pink and lavender. It reminded me a lot of Ariel's colors from Disney. So, I thought if I just showed her without asking her, she would go for it. How does the phrase go? Its better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission? Well, It's kind of like that. <br />
<br />
So I showed her the invitation ans she loved it. Yay!! So we were good with the colors.<br />
I incorporated the bubbles concept on the invitation as well as throughout all the pieces of stationery used. I created water bottle labels, cupcake toppers, candy labels, for the favors for the adults, and the goody bags themselves. Lots of work,but a whole bunch of fun!!!<br />

This is what it is all about! Usually, I meet with clients who are at the beginning of their journey, all in love and excited about their first day as man and wife. In this case, I am creating invitations to celebrate 50 years of marriage and where the love has conquered all. It's such a rare and special occasion that I feel honored to be a part of this.<br />
<br />
Their children thought their parents deserved something special so they hosted this event. Marriages like this are a true inspiration for me as I hope to see my 50th wedding anniversary as well.Patricia Mayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00257787386299695051noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-25529990915020759462011-12-28T14:25:00.006-05:002012-09-17T14:13:24.253-04:00HO! HO! HO! Christmas and Holiday Cards of this Season!<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5691263140250900418" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6KO3JbWE-tc/TvttrCXt18I/AAAAAAABIPo/PDJR8YTbiio/s400/christmas%2Bcards4.jpg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />Here are some of the Christmas -Holiday- New Years Cards I designed this year! <img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5691263127976747314" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8kD5c8XnmAc/TvttqUpVITI/AAAAAAABIPM/qZWINDlxWVU/s400/christmas%2Bcards2.jpg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /> ===MY PERSONAL CHRISTMAS CARD===<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5691263130754369858" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-guMEtgqHM4Y/Tvttqe_kSUI/AAAAAAABIPE/x2cHY-PHF9w/s400/christmas%2Bcards1.jpg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />This one is my personal Christmas Card. I wasn't sure if people were going to know that this is how it was supposed to look since it arrives flat but hopefully they got it!!<br />
<br />
===MY BUSINESS HOLIDAY CARD===<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5691263131858607410" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CPDC5eE2qqY/TvttqjG1nTI/AAAAAAABIPg/DSLSBKklh3Q/s400/christmas%2Bcards3.jpg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />Here is my business holiday cards sent out to all my clients of this year. Last year my perosnal and business cards were the same except for the signature but this year I challenged myself to create different ones...not sure I will do this again :)<br />
<br />
=== 7x7 HOLIDAY CARD===<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5691263390762515186" img="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--slee0OuJrQ/Tvtt5nmVuvI/AAAAAAABIQc/DL7uFxQPi9g/s400/christmas%2Bcards8.jpg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />This one was really unique in that it was 7"x7" folded card with 4 layers of cardstock! We also did the custom stamps and custom address label. Pretty sweet if I do say so myself. My client Sherri brought this quote to me and I loved it! She personalized every part of this card and I loved it!<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5691265692146480482" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GkMlPcOAqhY/Tvtv_k7CNWI/AAAAAAABIQ8/M4BwdBHnUnA/s400/christmas%2Bcards10.jpg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />Here you can see her envelope with the custom label and stamp.<br />
<br />
=== NEW YEAR'S CARD===<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5691263387015428962" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_LTfqbzKGWQ/Tvtt5Zo9u2I/AAAAAAABIQI/pXcnmZlFnDI/s400/christmas%2Bcards7.jpg" style="cursor: hand; cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" />This is is a New Years Card and my first swivel card. On one side is this message and on the other was a family photo. We also created custom stamps and a custom address label. These were for a loyal client who came last year for her New Years Card as well and we weren't sure if we were going to be able to top her card from last year, but I do think we did. I love these!<br />
By the way, she is an artist with a lot of talent. Check out her work at <a href="http://eileenbergerart.com/">www.eileenbergerart.com</a><br />
She has had her work and continues to have it exhibited across the country and even overseas!!<br />

She had the family photos taken by Emily Morgalis Photography.<br />
She does wonderful work, check her out here :<a href="http://morgalisphotography.com/"> www.morgalisphotography.com</a>. We also created a custom label for her envelope but or some reason I don't have one for my portfolio to show you :(<br />

<br />
I love these! I think they are very fitting to the bride and groom so I have to share!! These are my very first boarding pass save-the-dates. I even made these custom ticket jackets to go along with the theme.<br />
<br />
Candace reached out to me regarding her save-the dates and she wanted to do these boarding passes since they both work for the airlines. They also both met in New York and have lived there as well so it only makes sense that they would be planning their wedding there. <br />
<br />
She likes modern designs with minimal elements and clean lines. She also wanted a skyline of New York on the ticket jacket. Many of my clients like the metallic paper and choose that, but Candace wanted matte papers for the save-the-date. Though you cannot see it in the photos shown, the paper selected is a 120# thick white paper that almost feels like suede.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
OMG!! I have just taken an look at my blog to realize I haven't blogged since May!!! Shame on me! Do you want to hear my excuse? Hey, it's a new one! As I was updating one of my local advertisement on a wedding site, I came across another local stationer who had in fact copied in large parts my "Frequently Asked Questions Section" and it really made me not want to share anything anymore not to mention I was irate. I have contacted and become of a member of a company that protect people like me from copycats and I'm quite excited about it. I do think it's sad when another company who is claiming to be a custom stationer just copies verbatim large parts from my FAQs. Who knows what else they are copying? Be original as you claim to be, come up with your own wording. Now, I'm over it and back to sharing good stuff with the loyal and new followers I have and I have lots of good stuff to share that I have been holding back.
<br />
<br />
Jamie found me online and enjoyed reading my website and contacted me to create her wedding stationery. As lots of brides do, she wanted to start out with Save-the-dates. I've done lots of save-the-dates over the years but this was my first postcard save-the-date.
<br />
<br />
I've got to give credit to Jamie who suggested it. It's actually a great idea. No envelope necessary and the postal rate is cheaper. On the back of the postcard, she wanted to share an engagement photo with their guests and on the flip side we had all of the relevant information.
<br />
<br />
As for the graphic, she wanted peaches. Though the couple resides in Georgia, most of their guests would be out-of-town guests. Not exactly what you would conjure up in your head as a destination wedding, but for the guests it is with the destination being Georgia. What better way to represent Georgia but with a peach! To top it off, she added a custom stamp which was another engagement photo in black and white of the couple. Will be sharing the invites I made for them soon!!

<br />
I thought I would share something a little different...personalized note cards. <br />
This is not the norm... but who said I wanted to stick to the norm? Depending mostly on my schedule, I enjoy taking on new projects. So, when my mom asked me to make some personalized cards for a close friend/cousin of hers, I jumped at the chance. She's very elegant, sophisticated and maybe a little dramatic :) This is what I came up with for her. They are blank on the inside so you may use them for any occasion. I hope she liked them!! I also had personalized notepads made for her but I didn't get the chance to photograph those :(Patricia Mayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00257787386299695051noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-24128776917595205002011-04-18T11:52:00.008-04:002012-09-17T14:15:15.082-04:00Thanksgiving Save-the-dates!<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5596952340625434354" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LCOjpNJ4L-0/Taxef_fFJvI/AAAAAAABHe4/C_VMEQx5oxk/s400/jessica2.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
Yep, here comes another apology from yours truly for getting behind on my blog posts but do any of you guys have a 1 year old? If you do, you may identify with me right now. No, he's not my first child, but he's my first boy and he is truly an explorer!!! He loves to find electric outlets and pull the cords out of them after he has found a lamp that he shakes with the hopes that it will land on his head! My daughter was nothing like this. Everyday it's a race to see who wins -me racing to stop Christian, my son from reaching the top of the stairs and my son racing to make it to the top! As a toddler he is all boy! Sometimes I get so mad at him and then he flashes his adorable smile at me and I can't even get mad...Here's a couple of pictures of the culprit :)<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5596959801953022018" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BsDB9OY00Ho/TaxlSTGM8EI/AAAAAAABHfM/u9MDjxJCj2Q/s400/DSC01189.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 300px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />

So that's my excuse, but I'm back trying to catch you guys up on what's been going on with Invitation Creations, LLC.<br />
<br />
Jessica came to me with her wedding on Thanksgiving Day. She wanted a traditional style but for it to emit formal. Her colors are gold and white. Originally she had been working with another stationer but they went out of business and didn't even bother to contact her to let her know!!! Since they weren't returning any of her phone calls, she went to the place and found them packing up!! Well, I plan on being around for awhile and wouldn't treat my clients like that even if that were my case! But as they say, "when one door closes, another one opens" or is it a window? Whatever the case, I am thankful Jessica found me after her dilemma with her original stationer and she has been very pleased with our work and how well we return phone calls :)<br />
<br />
With it being a destination event as well as an event on a major holiday, Jessica was wise to send out her save-the-dates almost a year in advance.<br />
<br />
I always recommend sending out invitations for destination events or events on major holidays a little earlier if possible. Since Jessica was so on the ball with her save-the-dates, it gives her guests enough time to plan, prepare and save if need be!<br />
<br />
Here are her save-the-dates and I can't wait to share her invitations with you guys next!!Patricia Mayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00257787386299695051noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-56293283783934180462011-02-07T15:44:00.002-05:002012-09-17T14:15:56.972-04:00Let's go Bananas! - Jungle - Safari Invitations<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TVBbGX7j63I/AAAAAAABHa8/yWuiefoj0yg/s1600/safari2.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5571052904118479730" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TVBbGX7j63I/AAAAAAABHa8/yWuiefoj0yg/s400/safari2.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 400px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 240px;" /></a><br />

So I super excited to do another safari, Jungle themed invitation. This one was for a Seventh Birthday party. The host had a guide from the jungle bringing animals for the kids to see/pet.<br />
The decorations of the party matched the invitation with jungle foliage and stuffed animals everywhere!Patricia Mayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00257787386299695051noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-76589979879347153972011-01-25T13:02:00.003-05:002012-09-17T14:16:39.007-04:00WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards™ 2011<span style="color: #0099cc; font-style: italic;">{Atlanta, Georgia} – {January 25, 2011}</span> - WeddingWire, the nation’s leading <a href="http://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-planning.html" title="Wedding">wedding</a> technology company, is thrilled to announce <span style="color: #0099cc; font-style: italic;">{Invitation Creations, LLC}</span> has been selected to receive the prestigious annual <b>WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Awards™ 2011</b> for <span style="color: #0099cc; font-style: italic;">Wedding Invitation Stationers</span>! <br />

<br />
So these have to be the most detailed and sophisticated baby showers I've created to-date. I can't believe I was lucky enough to work with someone who wanted something out-of-the-box for her son's and girlfriend's baby shower. Yep, this was going to be my client's (Lorraine) first grandchild. I know this child is going to be loved!! Every aspect of this baby shower was out-of-the-box.<br />
<br />
This event was more on par with a wedding than a baby shower. She hired a DJ for the evening (yep, evening affair), she had a full bar and heavy hors d'ouevres. Their is a dress code, Jackets required at this venue and the venue was The Manor in West Orange NJ which is a venue where lots of couples get married.<br />
<br />
All of this and the baby isn't even here yet! I need to tell my mom that she needs to step up!! (Just Kidding , mom :) )<br />
<br />
To top it off, the affair was a surprise bash for the baby's mommy and her son.<br />
<br />
Since this a more formal affair, Lorraine wanted the invitations to reflect the event. She wanted a jungle theme. No monkeys was the only request. She wanted to make sure the design aspects were featured on every piece of paper.<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558992680899308610" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TSWCY_X_7EI/AAAAAAABHX0/R5Vph9WJflM/s400/slaughter3.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
She also wanted a mailed response, directions card and a registry card. She saw something on my website that she loved and then wanted an itinerary for the evening as well. FOUR inserts!! Holy cow!! Most of my brides don't do that many, but Lorraine isn't like most people. She wanted it to be an elegant, formal baby shower with a jungle theme. The pressure was on to deliver!<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558992688651418386" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TSWCZcQPuxI/AAAAAAABHYM/RxG3Rs0abOs/s400/slaughter6.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 216px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 360px;" /><br />
With four inserts and tons of information to include, we still needed to address the surprise element to the guests. So, I designed a custom envelope liner. In the final version, we also mentioned it on the cover of the envelope for those peeps who slice their mail with those mail cutters thus never opening the flap of an envelope.<br />
<br />
She also had a little baby shower poem that she wanted incorporated and she loved the jungle rattle. So I created a belly band to wrap around the pocketfold with these items on it.<br />
<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558992672932180674" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TSWCYhsfMsI/AAAAAAABHXs/ghovKDNnOU4/s400/slaughter2.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 400px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 240px;" /><br />
We couldn't go all out on this invite and then put some random stamp on it! Oh no, we created custom jungle stamps to coordinate with all the other pieces.<br />
<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558992683991517570" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TSWCZK5PSYI/AAAAAAABHYE/0F3A7bW0USU/s400/slaughter5.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
And last but not least, we added a little bling to the invitation. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!<br />
<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5558992684007945682" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TSWCZK9J9dI/AAAAAAABHX8/sIl0T4UnVXg/s400/slaughter4.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
I also addressed all the envelopes for the guests.<br />
<br />
Now, if you received this in the mail would you want to go?<br />

She was married on the lawn of the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. I personally love seeing the house in the background during the ceremony:) At the 19 second mark you'll see the programs I designed and further in there is a shot of the escort cards. A trailer definitely worth watching! I'll share the other reception items like the menu cards, tent cards and recipe cards, etc in a future blogpost.<br /><br />The video company was <a href="http://www.magichourcreative.com/">Magic Hour Creative</a> and the wedding planner was Melissa with <a href="http://www.ashevilleeventco.com/">Asheville Event Co</a>. Great trailer and an elegant event!! I feel so blessed to have been a part of it!<br /><br /><object height="385" width="640"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/prSbmaReqvA?fs=1&hl=en_US"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/prSbmaReqvA?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="385" width="640"></embed></object>Patricia Mayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00257787386299695051noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7427277948007600036.post-66854170279889758782010-12-22T15:24:00.002-05:002010-12-22T15:36:29.278-05:00HolidaysHappy Holidays!!!<br /><br />F.Y.I. Sandra was an AMAZING client and designing her wedding invitations were so much fun! After designing her save-the-dates, she wanted something more formal to reflect the venue and her event at The Biltmore Estate.<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550621308013083090" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfEq9LVedI/AAAAAAABHUk/cPnsC7tsTOM/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal8.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
From our initial meeting, she had mentioned her affinity for the 6x9 size invitation which was size I had not worked with yet, so I loved the idea. She also wanted a sample using the 5x7 size. So I designed 2 samples in the 5x7 size and 2 in the 6x9 size. She provided some pics of styles she liked for inspiration when designing her invitation. I designed a more vintage style invitation with modern flairs. Her colors were the eggplant, soft orange and touches of green. Ultimately she chose the 6x9 size invitation. It was my first time working with that size and I must say it has such a presence in size alone. Receiving a invitation like that in my mailbox would have me excited and thinking this is going to be an awesome event based on the glimpse the invitation provided. I used 4 layers of paper on her invitation which was another first. It was a great way to incorporate all of her colors. To add a little bling-bling, we added crystals to the invite. It was just another feature to reflect a WOW event! Like her save-the-dates, Sandra wanted to assemble the invitations herself. She enjoyed doing it! Hey, what a great idea and a great way for her to save some money!<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550621645861899122" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfE-nwxS3I/AAAAAAABHUs/9QZ3t7CYsRc/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal5.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
With such a sophisticated invitation, putting a liberty bell just wouldn't cut it, so Sandra asked me to design custom stamps to coordinate with her invitation suite so I did one for the outer envelope and one for her RSVP card.<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550621900597021122" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfFNcuWycI/AAAAAAABHU8/Sm76XJ0OF9A/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal7.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550621897175335122" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfFNP-kANI/AAAAAAABHU0/akKq653rExo/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal2.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
As I have said, Sandra was an uh-mazing client but did I tell you she also had skills? Yep! She designed her own map that she wanted me to incorporate in her inserts! And it wasn't some elementary looking map either. All I had to do was change the fonts and colors to match her suite. I also had the streets names following the path of the street on the map and that was it! Everything else was done by Sandra!! Check it out! Pretty Good!<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550622240417215986" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfFhOpzdfI/AAAAAAABHVE/76CJuUMmJvA/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal11.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
I loved every single piece of this invitation,<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550622722581816274" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfF9S2zY9I/AAAAAAABHVU/zKD5c3rv4-8/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal3.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550624186408896354" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfHSgCYB2I/AAAAAAABHV8/26pjr6vNFro/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal12.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
but my favorite was the back of the RSVP card. LOVE!<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550622722687207826" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfF9TP7iZI/AAAAAAABHVc/uS7pDewvCeE/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal10.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 400px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 240px;" /><br />
Also Sandra really liked the custom wrap labels versus printing directly on the envelope and so I addressed all of her guests on a custom designed custom label that would wrap around her envelope.<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550623190144568130" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfGYgqcy0I/AAAAAAABHVk/-AdaY8cAWwg/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal9.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
She also chose a textured envelope that may be hard to see here, but in person had such a nice feel in your hands that it just added to experience of opening this amazing invitation if I do say so myself :)<br />
<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550623839621460882" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_J97LZ9ysD_U/TQfG-UJzs5I/AAAAAAABHVs/vy1xnPxcekE/s400/sandra%2Binvitefinal6.jpg" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 400px;" /><br />
I can't say enough about how amazing Sandra was. She was the epitome of an ideal bride. I met Bradford, the groom, as well and he was pretty cool too!<br />
<br />
I can't wait to share the reception items we created as well!<br />
<br />
Thank you Sandra for being so great to work with and allowing me the opportunity to collaborate with you on designing your wedding invitations. I wish you nothing but the best!!Patricia Mayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00257787386299695051noreply@blogger.com0
